Head of Quants, Associate Director/Director (Fixed Income), New York-Salary $180,000-$200,000 Base
Boutique investment bank is expanding into the US and European wholesale fixed income and interest rate derivatives markets. They are significantly investing in infrastructure to have capabilities comparable with those of top tier US and European banks.
They are seeking an experienced, high performance, results oriented individual to provide Front Office leadership, oversight and management of the US treasury, agency, repo, MBS and interest rate derivatives wholesale trading infrastructure. This individual will closely collaborate with trading/sales, other FE team members, and Middle and Back Offices.
The successful candidate will be based in New York and will report to the head of Fixed Income who is located in Toronto.
Position Responsibilities: -Provide Front Office leadership, oversight and management of our US treasury, agency, repo, MBS and interest rate derivatives wholesale trading infrastructure with accountability for trading/sales requirements, specifications and scope, -Provide subject matter and analytical expertise in the area of fixed income and interest rate derivatives to the sales and trading desk, technology, Middle and Back Offices.
Position Qualifications: -7+ years experience in building and managing fixed income and interest rate derivatives trading infrastructure and processes in a top tier wholesale capital markets environment, -Excellent knowledge of US fixed income (treasury, agency, MBS and repo) and interest rate derivatives markets, including trading, pricing, risk, technology and operations, -Knowledgeable in US fixed income electronic and algorithmic trading, -High performance, pragmatic, detail oriented team player able to work well and foster consensus in a complex, demanding and fast-paced environment, -Excellent communication skills, -University degree, preferably graduate, in a financial, economic, quantitative, business or computer science discipline.
The Corporate and Investment Banking Division of this bank, provides a full range of investment banking, credit and risk management products and services relevant to the financing and strategic development needs of our clients. The Global Capital Markets unit of the firm has derivative, fixed income, equity, foreign exchange and precious metals sales and trading operations in Toronto, New York, Mexico, London and the Far East.
We work closely with the trading and marketing desks to develop new product or specific transaction capability, which includes leading infrastructure projects for new business initiatives, as well as developing financial models, hedging strategies and analytics. We work with Credit, Equity, Energy and Interest Rate Derivatives and with the Funding, Fixed Income, Equity, Equity Finance, Precious Metals and Foreign Exchange desks globally. The business demands constant innovation, both in the development of the financial products and in the enabling infrastructure. The environment is highly dynamic and the group is very team and results oriented.
